Eligibility Requirements

Nemacolin internship applicants must be full-time college students with a high school diploma or equivalent. They must also be in the process of completing or have recently completed a program of study in their area of interest or a related discipline. Recent graduates are eligible to participate in the internship programs throughout the year following graduation.

If you are no longer eligible to participate in our internship or externship programs, please visit www.nemacolin.com/careers to find out about our employment opportunities.

Due to the nature of our business, applicants who wish to participate in the internship programs must be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, most positions require interns to be available to work full-time hours.

The Application Process

Individuals who wish to be considered for one or more of Nemacolin's internship programs must submit an application for employment at www.nemacolin.com/careers. Two professional letters of recommendation are required, and candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check as a condition of employment.

After the Application

Once you have completed the online application, please be patient as we receive hundreds of applications for our internship programs each year. If you are selected to participate in the interview process, a Nemacolin recruiter or department representative will contact you via telephone or email. Applicants typically complete a prescreen interview prior to interviewing with specific department managers. The entire selection process can take several weeks to complete, but all applicants are notified via email after the final selections have been made. If you have questions regarding your application, please feel free to contact the Human Resources department at 724.329.6464.

What Do Our Interns Have to Say About Their Experience?

“The Lodging Internship Program at Nemacolin truly provided me with experiences and opportunities I would have not gotten anywhere else. During my twelve weeks there, I rotated throughout various departments around the resort such as Human Resources and Sales while my main focus was at the Front Desk of their Five-Star, Five-Diamond hotel, Falling Rock. I can take the Forbes Five-Star service training that I received at Nemacolin anywhere I go, and it has played a vital role in my job search.”

- Rachel Boulay, Lodging/Guest Services Intern
Penn State University

“I was thoroughly pleased with the way my Director and Supervisor at the time trained me and gave me the inside scoop on how things were run at the resort. After a summer season of facilitating at the Adventure Center, I began to gain confidence in my abilities. A big part of that confidence came from my superiors giving me achievable goals and timelines. As soon as I knew it, summer had ended and I was offered a full-time position. After that, I continued to work hard and earned my current position as a Recreation Supervisor. Nemacolin has given me plenty of things to put on my resume and great experience in the recreation field.”

- Matt Luke, Recreation Supervisor and former Recreation Intern
State University of New York - Brockport

"In the hospitality industry, experience is everything. What I learned while interning at Nemacolin never could have been taught to me in a classroom or through a textbook."

- Katie Warne, Lodging/Guest Services Intern
West Virginia University
