“Breast Weekend Ever” Returns to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
Nemacolin Plans Weekend Events and Hosts Co-Founder of Vera Bradley
FARMINGTON, PA (September 4, 2013) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort once again joins forces with several business partners to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. September 20 through September 22 will mark the second year of the Breast Weekend Ever event, which last year raised over $15,000 for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. “We were so overwhelmed by the support and success of our inaugural event,” explains Elaine McKulka, resort retail director. Nemacolin was awarded the 2012 Golden Tote Award from Vera Bradley in April, an award honoring exemplary support of the Vera Bradley Foundation. “Once our Breast Weekend Ever event was recognized amongst 3,000 retailers and 9 finalists, I just knew we had to plan a bigger and better event for 2013.”
A 1:00 p.m. Golf Scramble on The Links Golf Course Friday brings a new component to the event and will kick-off the weekend. Golfers will compete for skill prizes as well as team awards, which include 2014 Links Memberships to the 1st place team. Mike Wood Toyota in Uniontown, PA will provide a 2013 Toyota Camry prize for a hole-in-one giveaway.
Saturday brings a one, two punch and the action heats up as Zumba Fitness Instructors will present a Zumbathon at 10:00 a.m. to raise additional monies for the foundation. Resort guests and local residents are invited to join in the fight and dance the morning away at the Panorama Pavilion. A Mini Spa Afternoon presented by the Woodlands Spa and Dermalogica® rounds out the afternoon as guests are invited to the resort’s Grand Ballroom for mini manicures, pedicures and chair massages.
Sunday’s festivities include trunk shows, shopping, a Pick-a-Prize Auction and the highlight of the Breast Weekend Ever, a luncheon in Horizon Point at 1:00 p.m. During the Luncheon, guests will be treated to an informal fashion show and special guests, Patricia Miller, Co-Founder of Vera Bradley and Catherine Hill, Executive Director of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. “We’re delighted that Nemacolin is raising funds for breast cancer research,” explains Catherine Hill. “Our Vera Bradley retailers are the perfect ambassadors to help us bring more awareness and support to our corporate cause.” Michelle Wright, WTAE-TV Morning Anchor will act as emcee for the afternoon.
A Pink Glove Package representing discounted room rates has been created for the weekend and all events are offered à la carte as well. A portion of all weekend events and retail sales at Nemacolin’s Heritage Court Shoppes will also be donated to the foundation. Luncheon tickets are available at the resort for $35.00.
