Four-miles from Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on a 140-acre complex is one of the nation's top sporting clays facilities: The Shooting Academy. Featuring 35 sporting clay stations spread across two courses, towers and two five-stand pavilions, the course can be tailored to challenge everyone from the most seasoned wing shooter to the novice shooter. We invite you to spend an hour or an afternoon on our course; you will be amazed at how much your confidence grows with each shot.

The Shooting Academy's offerings and amenities include a variety of shooting instructional packages, junior lessons, sporting clay packages, supplies and memberships.

Man shooting clay pigeons.

Think of it as "golf with a shotgun." Sporting clay targets are projected to imitate wild game birds and are thrown at a variety of angles, heights and distances. The closest thing to field shooting of any shotgun sport, our two courses feature two five-stands and a wobble trap field along with a total of 35 stations laid out over Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands.

First time shooters are guaranteed to break targets with the help of our National Sporting Clay Association (NSCA) certified male and female instructors. With private lessons available by reservation for beginners to advanced shooters, sporting clays are a sport for the whole family.
