"BREAST WEEKEND EVER" RETURNS TO NEMACOLIN WOODLANDS RESORT
Weekend events to benefit Breast Cancer Research
FARMINGTON, PA (September 3, 2014) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort once again is inviting guests and the local community to join their efforts in raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The weekend of September 26 through September 28 will mark the third year of the Breast Weekend Ever event, which has raised nearly $34,000 for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer since 2012. The weekend will include a Golf Scramble, Fitness Extravaganza and luncheon event, with special guest speaker, Catherine Hill, Executive Director of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
“Our Breast Weekend Ever event success is contingent on the support of our guests and our community,” explains Elaine McKulka, resort Retail Director. “Each year we continue to be overwhelmed by the growth of the event and the amount of money we are able to raise for a worthy cause.”
The weekend will kick-off on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. with a Golf Scramble on The Links Golf Course. Golfers will compete for skill prizes as well as team awards, which include 2015 Links Memberships to the 1st place team. On Saturday, the action will heat up as local fitness instructors will present a Fitness Extravaganza featuring belly dancing and Zumba from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to raise additional monies for the foundation. Resort guests and local residents are invited to participate at the resort’s Panorama Pavilion.
The highlight of the weekend is a luncheon in the resort’s Marquis Ballroom on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Festivities will include shopping, trunk shows, silent auction and an informal fashion show featuring local cancer fighters and survivors. During the luncheon, guests will be treated to guest speaker, Catherine Hill, who will share updates on breast cancer research. “We love that Nemacolin offers these unique and fun experiences to raise funds for breast cancer research,” explains Catherine Hill. “Our Vera Bradley retailers are the perfect ambassadors to help us bring more awareness and support to our corporate cause.” Michelle Wright, WTAE-TV Morning Anchor will act as emcee for the afternoon.
A portion of all weekend events and retail sales at Nemacolin’s Heritage Court Shoppes will also be donated to the foundation. Advanced reservations and ticket sales are available and encouraged.
