Nemacolin Woodlands Presents Their “Breast Weekend Ever”
Farmington, PA (July 10, 2012) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and their associates are lacing up their boxing gloves and joining forces with several retail partners to help “knock out” breast cancer. The weekend of September 21 through September 23 has been designated as their Breast Weekend Ever and their fighting efforts involve raising funds for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. “We intended to host a benefit luncheon as we have in years’ past,” explains Elaine McKulka, resort retail director. “But as we began to plan the event, we were approached by a number of vendors who wanted to be a part of the day and the two hour luncheon quickly grew into a full and fabulous weekend.”
The weekend kicks-off Friday evening with a “Wind Down With Wine” shopping event in the resort’s Heritage Court Shoppes with a portion of all sales being donated to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Guests can browse through the new fall collections and take advantage of special discounts, all while enjoying complimentary wine. Saturday brings a one, two punch and the action heats up as Zumba Fitness will present a Zumbathon to raise additional monies for the foundation. Resort guests and local residents are invited to join in the fight and dance the morning away at the WildSide while skincare partner, Mama Mio provides complimentary hand and arm massages.
Saturday afternoon, guests are invited to the Woodlands Spa for a Jan Marini Open House complete with a wine and cheese party, product sampling and discounted treatments. Guests also have the option of donning boots to Stomp Out Cancer at a special wine stomp in the vineyards of nearby Christian W. Klay Winery. Lunch amongst the vines will be followed by tours and tastings.
The highlight of the Breast Weekend Ever is a luncheon in the resort’s Grand Ballroom at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23rd. The day’s festivities include trunk shows, shopping, a Pick a Prize Auction, an informal fashion show featuring local cancer survivors as models and a very special keynote speaker, Patricia Miller, Co-Founder of Vera Bradley. Michelle Wright, WTAE-TV Morning Anchor will act as emcee for the afternoon.
A Pink Glove Package representing discounted room rates has been created for the weekend and all events are offered à la carte as well. Luncheon tickets are available at the resort for a donation of $35.00 and can be purchased by calling Elaine McKulka at 724-329-6014.
