AN EVENING WITH KATHLEEN EDWARDS
Farmington, PA (March 18, 2009) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort will be the site of a unique musical event scheduled for April 18, 2009. An Evening With Kathleen Edwards will take place in the Grand Ballroom at the luxury resort located southeast of Pittsburgh.
“Although we have hosted musical events at the resort in the past, this evening will be quite different and feature a much more intimate setting” says Trey Matheu, resort General Manager. Matheu explained that the Grand Ballroom, added to the resort in 1991 has played host to The Charlie Daniels Band, Hootie and the Blowfish as well as Pittsburgh favorites, The Clarks.
Kathleen Edwards has been hailed as one of the finest and most distinctive singer-songwriters to emerge in recent years. Her blend of country, folk and pop music has received many accolades and The New York Times praised Edwards as a writer whose songs can “pare situations down to a few dozen words while they push country-rock toward its primal impulses of thump and twang.” In 2008, her 3rd Album, Asking For Flowers was nominated for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and received 4 out of 5 stars in Rolling Stone.
The evening of music begins at 9:00 p.m. Concert tickets are priced at $30.00 and can be purchased by calling Nemacolin Woodlands Resort at 866.399.6957 or by logging on to www.ticketweb.com.
