Comedy Entertainment Series Begins in May
Farmington, PA (May 11, 2012) — Nemacolin Woodlands Resort will feature well known comedians in their upcoming “Funny Business“ comedy series. Beginning this month, the resort will welcome a different personality to headline a comedy show each month in the resort’s Grand Ballroom and a special Funny Business Package has been created to combine event tickets and a resort amenity credit with overnight accommodations.
“Our owners have long subscribed to the theory that Nemacolin Woodlands should be a place for fun and that we shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously,” said Chris Plummer, General Manager of the luxury resort southeast of Pittsburgh. “Bringing comedy into our entertainment line-up seemed like the perfect fit” added Plummer. The series opens on Saturday, May 26th with Bill Crawford.
Crawford who recently joined the on-air team at WDVE Radio has performed at the TBS Just For Laughs comedy festival in Chicago and has been described as one of the country’s most promising stand-ups.
Other series performers include Matt Wohlfarth, Billy Elmer, Gene Collier and Aaron Kleiber. Wohlfarth has over 20 years’ experience as stand-up comedian in clubs throughout the United States and Canada. Billy Elmer has long been a Pittsburgh favorite but audiences around the country have also been able to enjoy his humor on HBO and Showtime as well as his appearances in a number of feature films including “The Wedding Singer”. Gene Collier, a frequent guest on WDVE, has written about sports, politics and the media for more than 30 years. His popularity as a writer has translated into a second career as a stand-up comedian. Comedian Aaron Kleiber has opened for Sinbad, Billy Gardell and Bobcat Goldwait in addition to starring in “Help Me, Help You” opposite Sabrina Bryan. Most shows will feature an opening act in addition to the headline performers. Show dates along with complete comedian biographies are detailed at nemacolin.com in the resort’s Events Calendar. Space for each performance is limited and advance reservations are strongly recommended.
All shows begin at 9:00 p.m. and the $25.00 admission price provides entrance to the performance and includes one complimentary drink. Due to the adult nature of some material, guests under the age of 18 will not be admitted to the shows. Resort guests and area residents can reserve their space and learn more about the Funny Business Package by calling the resort’s reservation department at 800-422-2736.
