Celebrate Memorial Day With Three Days Of Family Fun At Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
Farmington, Pa. (April 12, 2007) — The first official holiday of summer is fast approaching, and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is the place to be for families on Memorial Day Weekend. The Mobil 4-Star and AAA 4-Diamond resort located in Southwestern Pennsylvania is offering a weekend packed with activities for families, highlighted by old-fashioned family games and nightly activities.
“Memorial Day Weekend is generally a popular ‘short vacation’ time for families,” says Trey Matheu, director of resort operations for Nemacolin Woodlands. “It’s the first official weekend of summer, and we place heavy emphasis on activities and options for families throughout the holiday weekend.”
Family activity offerings begin with Bingo Madness on Friday evening, May 25. Saturday (the 26th) is packed with fun including family photos, carnival games on the Croquet Court, and family games – such as a Three-Legged Relay Race, Potato Sack Race, Pie Eating Contest and Water Balloon Toss. Highlighting Saturday’s events will be the Grand Opening of Nemacolin’s newest activity area, the Marina @ Paige’s Beach featuring pedal boats, kayaks, canoes and small sailboats. Nemacolin’s trail rides on horseback will also operate from the marina area. Bingo Madness returns for Saturday evening, along with a special nighttime outdoor movie at the resort’s Adventure Center/Ski Lodge. Sunday, May 27 features Nemacolin’s expansive Sunday Brunch, a Mini Golf Tournament with prizes, and Family Game Night followed by a nighttime indoor movie.
New this year for Nemacolin’s Memorial Day Weekend celebration is a Golf Demo Day on Saturday, May 26. Representatives from Nike will be at the Links Pro Shop demonstrating the latest golf equipment and gear.
