Terrain Park Among 2013/14 Announcements at Nemacolin
Opening date slated for December 20th
Farmington, PA (December 5, 2013) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort’s list of more than 70 resort amenities has grown even longer with the announcement of their newest winter addition, a Terrain Park at Mystic Mountain. The Terrain Park, which has been dubbed “The Yeti’s Lair,” will open; weather permitting, for the 2013/2014 ski season on Friday, December 20. Mystic Mountain is Western Pennsylvania's ideal learning environment for first-time skiers, with 25 acres of friendly trails, seven slopes and experienced instructors.
“Terrain parks continue to be an aggressively growing ski industry trend,” says Matt Grobe, Director of Activities at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. “However, it was our guests and season pass holders who continued to suggest this amenity that ultimately led us to add this feature this season. Our goal is to provide a terrain park experience that our skiers and riders can navigate, while learning the skills necessary to be able to successfully master more advanced terrain parks.”
Nemacolin’s Terrain Park will be located near the top of the mountain, adjacent to Mystic Mountain’s Grizzly Run and will include six distinct features including a 24' Flat Box, a 16' Down Cannon Rail and 24' Rainbow Box. Introduction to Terrain Park Lessons will also be available.
This winter, guests can once again experience the new Sundial Lodge facility, which opened December 24, 2012, after the original lodge was destroyed by fire in February 2012. The Sundial Lodge features eight bowling lanes, an arcade, retail shop and a casual dining outlet, Apex. A new dining concept will also be featured for the 2013/2014 season, with an emphasis on relaxed food choices such as wings, soups, flatbreads and sandwich specialties and a variety of beverages. Dining specials and live entertainment will also be available throughout the season.
Mystic Mountain operates Friday through Sunday, with extended dates and hours on holidays. Day, night and multiple day lift tickets are available as well as a 2013/2014 Season Pass program, which includes $119 adult (12 & up), $99 junior (11-6) and $29 child (5-under) passes. These special rates are valid through December 24.
