Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America Visits Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
Resort To Support Effort With Shooting Event and Dinner
Farmington, PA (April 6, 2011) – The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America will wind its way through the Laurel Highlands arriving at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on Sunday, May 8th. Kyle and nearly two hundred motorcyclists will be visiting the luxury resort southeast of Pittsburgh as they complete the second leg of their journey from Lake Placid, New York to Amelia Island, Florida. 2011 marks the seventeenth year that former NASCAR driver and TV analyst, Kyle Petty has combined his passion for helping others and love of motorcycles in hosting the ride.
The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America benefits Victory Junction, a camp for children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses. Victory Junction began with a dream and the dreamer was Kyle’s late son, Adam. The original camp, located in Randleman, North Carolina, is supported solely by contributions from corporations, individual donors and the Ride.
Since the inaugural event in 1995, 6,850 participants have logged in excess of 9.8 million cumulative motorcycle miles and donated more than 14 million dollars to Victory Junction and charities that support chronically ill children.
In conjunction with the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is offering a number of opportunities for residents and guests to support Victory Junction and the children. On Sunday, May 8, “Shoot For Victory”, a sporting clays tournament will be held at the resort’s Field Club at 1:00 p.m. Kyle and NFL great and Heisman Trophy Winner, Herschel Walker will be on hand to greet guests and participate in this event which includes 100 targets, a hospitality station and Five Stand element.
“An Evening Of Victory” is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. that same day as the motorcyclists mark the end of their second day on the road with a casual dinner and reception in the resort’s Grand Ballroom. A portion of the proceeds of both events will benefit Victory Junction. If you are unable to participate, sponsorship opportunities are available. To inquire about sponsorships, register for the “Shoot For Victory” tournament or to make reservations for an “Evening of Victory”, please call a Reservations Specialist at 800-422-2736.
