Nemacolin Woodlands Resort To Host Rocktoberfest

Farmington, PA (September 12, 2012) – Move over Fall Festival.  Nemacolin Woodlands is introducing Rocktoberfest to be held at the resort October 12 – October 14.  The resort has transformed their yearly celebration into a one-of-a-kind event featuring six hours of musical entertainment, a competitive Brew-fest and activities for the entire family.

“The Fall Festival has traditionally been one of our most popular events but we felt that it was very similar to other resort offerings and much like a number of regional fall celebrations.  The Rocktoberfest concept was born out of a desire to provide something unique that might appeal to a wider audience,”   said Chris Plummer, General Manager of the luxury resort southeast of Pittsburgh.  “Music is said to be the universal language and we are always in search for the “unexpected” so it seemed only natural to draw on those two concepts and reinvent the festival.”

Friday evening’s “On The Rocks” mixology class will be held in the Chateau Lobby as the resort’s very best bartenders demonstrate their skills in preparing specialized cocktails with classic rock accompaniment.  The festival kicks off in earnest on Saturday, October 13 and in keeping with the theme, guests are invited to “Play the Rock” with rates at the resort’s Mystic Rock golf course at an all-time low of $50.00 for eighteen holes.  The music begins at 12 noon with The Lava Game and continues throughout the day with Glitz at 2:00 p.m. followed by closer, Lovebettie at 4:00 p.m.  A $5.00 general admission fee covers all performances, games and activities including a bounce house, face painting, corn hole and horseshoes as well as chair massages and a Sumo Wrestling competition.

All Inclusive Adventure Passes will be offered at a special rate on Saturday only.
These passes are valid for a number of resort activities including the Fat Bird Flyer Zip Line, Jeep Ride Alongs, ropes course, miniature golf and much more.  The Rockin’ Best Brewfest will open at noon and is offered to guests over 21.  This year’s brewfest features more than 15 breweries and has a competitive element with the $20.00 per person fee entitling guests to unlimited beer tastings, souvenir mug and the opportunity to vote for their favorite brews.

The weekend concludes with another special golf offering and the opportunity to play the Links Course on Sunday, October 14 for the special rate of $25.00 plus tax.  Tee times for either golf course can be made by calling 724-329-6111.
