NEMACOLIN WOODLANDS RESORT'S ANNUAL ROCKTOBERFEST SET FOR OCTOBER 11, 2014
New event location and amenities have been added to this year’s agenda
FARMINGTON, PA (October 1, 2014) – Nemacolin Woodlands Resort will welcome the return of fall with their annual RocktoberFest event, scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This year the festival will take place at the resort’s Sundial Lodge to accommodate annual event favorites such as live rock and roll entertainment and a competitive BrewFest, as well as new amenities including pumpkin pie eating contests, beer stein and root beer races and a Ride Pink Charity Motorcycle Ride benefiting breast cancer research.
“Our annual RocktoberFest event has always been a community celebration of the fall season in the Laurel Highlands,” said Chris Plummer, General Manager of the luxury resort southeast of Pittsburgh. “Each year, we explore different options when planning the festival to make certain that the event grows and that we offer something for every member of the family.”
Music begins at 12:00 p.m. with Pittsburgh’s The Lava Game and continues throughout the day with Rolling Stone’s “Band to Watch,” Lovebettie, taking the stage at 3:00 p.m. All-Inclusive Adventure Passes will be offered at a special rate of $25.00 per person. These passes are valid for a number of resort activities including the 3,000-foot Fatbird SuperFlyer Zip Line, Jeep® Ride Alongs, ropes course, miniature golf and much more. A bounce house, face painting, pumpkin painting and kids’ corner will also be available.
The highlight of the event, the Rockin’ Best BrewFest, will begin at 1:00 p.m. and is offered to guests over 21. The resort will welcome local and regional breweries featuring over 70 beer varieties including ales, stouts, lagers, pilsners and specialty beers for connoisseurs to taste. Tasting Kits are $20.00 per person and include a commemorative sampling glass, unlimited tastings (while supplies last) and a competitive element entitling guests to vote for their top five favorite brews.
A new event highlight is the Ride Pink Charity Motorcycle Ride, which will depart from Nemacolin at 11:00 a.m. Riders will enjoy a three hour scenic leaf peeping drive throughout the Laurel Highlands and return to the resort at 2:00 p.m. to end the day at the RocktoberFest event. Pricing includes a t-shirt, lunch at the CaddyShack Restaurant, and admission to the BrewFest portion of event. Proceeds will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
