Retailer Unveils New Offerings

Farmington, PA (September 13, 2011) – Woodlands World in Downtown Uniontown has undergone a number of exciting changes over the past two months.  Originally located at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pennsylvania, Woodlands World has been in its current location since 2006 and has been outfitting the region’s outdoor enthusiasts since its opening in 2002.  The store has a fresh new look and new management to oversee this transformation.

“Nemacolin Woodlands has always played a supporting role in the daily operations of the area’s largest outdoor outlet,” explains Elaine McKulka, Director of Retail Operations at the luxury resort.  “With the completion of Route 43 and the increased traffic to the downtown area, we wanted to expand the product lines at Woodlands World to offer apparel and equipment to those who not only play outside but are forced to work in the elements” said McKulka.  Nemacolin Woodlands is working with the Woodlands World staff to reinvent the existing space and make room for additional items as well as designing a new website complete with updated e-commerce capabilities.

D. J. Casto was recently named Store Manager and will be responsible for day to day operations as well as for buying guns and hunting apparel.  Casto said that in addition to in-store sales, Woodlands World generates a sizeable amount of revenue from online purchases with regular customers from as far away as California and Wyoming.  “Given that these individuals have the opportunity to purchase supplies in major markets but continue to work with us speaks volumes to the trained professionals that make up the Woodlands World staff”, added Casto.   Garrett Brain, an accomplished fly fisherman, has accepted the position of Assistant Manager and comes to the store from the Nemacolin Field Club.

An updated apparel department is one of the biggest changes at Woodlands World.  The addition of Columbia® and Carhartt® will provide new options for ladies as well as offer a line of Flame Resistant clothing. Even the logo will be changing to reflect the store’s interior and new selection of merchandise that embraces all facets of an outdoor lifestyle.   The updated website, live radio broadcast, educational seminars and special sales are just a few of the new offerings planned for the outlet in the very near future.   For current sale prices, clearance items and special event notices, please visit woodlandsworld.com or call 724.439.3969.
